Why Onward?

I’ve always been drawn to people and the deeper “why” behind how we think, feel, and move through the world. I knew I wanted to do meaningful work, but the traditional counselling path never quite fit. Social work gave me something different. It let me blend clinical approaches with a broader, real-life perspective.

Over the years, I’ve worked with people navigating grief, burnout, trauma, identity shifts, parenting, and money stress. I use a variety of approaches like EMDR, CBT, ACT, and Narrative Therapy, but what matters most is tailoring support to you—not forcing you into a box.

Social work helps us zoom out: beyond the individual, into systems, core beliefs, and identity. It helps us name what's ours to hold (and what isn’t.)

Onward began with 1:1 therapy, but it’s grown. I now offer coaching, consulting, and education alongside therapy because support shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. I also teach social work at Memorial University and take on leadership and consultative roles that allow me to challenge systems and support meaningful change.

Whether you're here for therapy, a check-in, or workplace support, Onward is a space that honours where you’ve been and helps you move forward in a way that feels right for you.

The Backstory

Therapy and support at Onward is:

  • Trauma-Informed – grounded in safety, trust, and choice

  • Relational – built on connection, not just technique

  • Inclusive & Anti-Oppressive – aware of how systems shape our lives

  • Flexible – tailored to your needs, not a rigid model

  • Real-Life Focused – supportive of the chaos, not in spite of it

Onward is about movement—forward, sideways, or just finding your footing. Wherever you are, this is a space to land, reflect, and move onward in a way that feels like yours.
