Finding the right therapist is about more than credentials. It’s about connection.

THERAPIST | COACH | EDUCATOR | CONSULTANT
Carrie Matthews, BSW, MSW, RSW
I’m Carrie (she/her)—a therapist, social worker, mom, and lifelong learner based in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. I support people navigating life’s harder seasons: grief, burnout, identity shifts, money stress, parenting struggles, and the big questions that don’t come with tidy answers.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work (2011) and Master of Social Work (2019) from Memorial University, where I now teach part-time in the School of Social Work. My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and rooted in compassion with room for a little humour and a lot of being human.
I’ve walked my own path through loss and healing. That lived experience informs the space I hold for others especially when words are hard to find or things feel heavy.
I find grounding in a cozy cup of tea, a heartfelt chat, and the deep belief that healing isn’t about getting over something. It’s about finding ways to carry it with more ease.
